Hello there, your expertise is required once more to help develop this awesome site! There was also a matter concerning an affiliation with Banana Fish here of which I hope you could support if you would like : )
It's been a year-plus since I last spoke to you guys and a lot has happened. A chain of drastic events in life happened which discouraged me from coming back and committing to the Wiki.
Alas, I broke my promise and I did not return your messages. Initially, I had a draft ready but it was lost in the midst of a crazy few months in between. Coming back after a long time and looking back at the debates we had, I think it's all rather silly we actually went that far. Things would have been a lot easier had it been more simple and compromised. At the end of the day, we just want the best for the Wiki and I hope we have no hard feelings with each other. But ironically, it was because of this that the Wiki has grown so much over the course of its history.
If it's okay once you've seen this message, reply to me and maybe we could have a chat. It's been way overdue and I have plenty of things to disclose to you and the rest of the old gang (Naui, Kaiser, Garret etc). Looking forward to speaking with you.
I was just talking to Naui about a promotion to admin so that I can help out more with both templates, warding off vandalism, and I suspect this wikia's traffic will increase now that season 3 is coming out this fall. But first he needs a reconfirmation from you first. Thanks once again for the time and consideration.
Sorry for opening up a new thread for this, but for some reason I can't seem to reply back to the one in my wall.
The idea of posting both versions came to me from the Seven Deadly Sins wikia. I believe that there are benefits for posting both versions up.
First, the images are no longer the same picture wise, since translation groups often employ re drawers for editing now.
Secondly the English versions always comes out much faster than the Japanese version. Estimated time is about half-a week. In that case, the english version does have the advantage of speed over its Japanese counterpart.
Thirdly, we already have a precedent with this through the volume covers. If any issues appear in the image gallery over which version to post, we can use the pre-existing trend with the volume covers. Clearly there is enough of distinction there to avoid being redundant of the same image.
I understand that there are obviously more chapters than volumes, but I find that if more content is added, pictures following suit is unavoidable.
But hey that's just me. You're the boss man. But if possible and not to time consuming, I kinda want to hear the other admins and rollbackers opinions on this matter.
One more thing, can we also create a previous occupation to the character template? It would help with all of the alumnus and their previous affiliation to the Elite Ten and probably by the end of the current arc, since the Elite Ten seats are bound to switch hands eventually.
I see. You make some good points, especially referring to the SDS wikia and I agree with you. I didn't see that you put the two chapter covers on the page, but now that I saw it, let's keep it that way. And nah, I'm usually the one that handles the images for the Chapter and Episode pages, so we are going with your way.
Alright, I don't really keep up with SnS that often so feel free to update the Letoile section
On the matter with the previous occupation format, let's talk with Naui about it. I have some reservations about it however. He might be able to clear them depending on what he say.
And thanks for letting me see Chapter 192 cover again in Jap. Megumi looks badass. And I realized "Our life is our art-" was in English originally. For personal request, could you darken it a little like what you did on 199? I can't read the "OTAN" on Erina's shirt. What word was that btw?
@Garret, I think that might just be a side effect of the scanner used to copy the raws. Translation team might have re-drawers darken the image. Then again, the images provided by Viz online are also a bit lighter in color texture.
I can see what I can do, but no promises, since I don't have photoshop until I go back to school in September.
