The Magician that Came From the East is the 24th chapter of the Shokugeki no Soma series.
Plot Summary[]
While Sōma and Megumi prepare the ingredients, Hinako approaches and asks Kojirō if "Restaurant Tadokoro" sounds pretty nice, so he ties her up and tells Donato to put her somewhere far away.
When Megumi finishes cutting the tomatoes, she puts them in the stove, but she has forgotten to tell Sōma to scrap the shoulder meat. Fortunately, he finishes cutting it as well as removing the strings. Sōma asks Megumi for what he should work on; the chicken liver or the pork fatback, so she chooses the liver. As they're cooking, Megumi asks Sōma if the mold is ready yet, and he confirms that it is while the vegetable sauté is in 12 seconds to finish. With the Alumni observing, Fuyumi questions what she sees. So Hitoshi and Donato look through Sōma's file that he transferred. Getting impressed, they see that he's predicting on what Megumi does and supporting her while not slowing down, and Sōma isn't doing anything unnecessary as he's being careful of not getting in Megumi's way. Just then, Gin announces that judgement will start soon.
While Kojirō is going first, Hinako comes in after managing to untie herself and asks where her plate is, but he tells her there's none for her and to have Fuyumi to share some with her. As he serves his dish to the judges, it is a Chou Farci, which is unexpecting to them, and Hinako is disappointed due to Kojirō always making showy dishes before getting hit on the head by him. As they take a bite, the judges are fascinated by the taste of the dish. Gin notes that Kojirō went to France after graduating and opened his own restaurant where he's known as the Légumes Magician.
When Kojirō asks Fuyumi about the flavor, she bluntly answers that it would've been perfect if it could erase her memories of him, which he calls it a pity. However, although Gin is satisfied, he's expecting one of Kojirō's specialties, but Kojirō dismisses it as a joke, stating that his opponents are just students. Next is Megumi's dish that she and Sōma are going to serve.
